These pull-apart turkey and cranberry sliders are a quick and easy recipe perfect for using up leftovers or feeding a crowd. With sweet Hawaiian rolls, savory turkey, tangy cranberry sauce, and melted Swiss cheese, all topped with a buttery, golden crust, they’re an irresistible comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls (or any soft dinner rolls)
  • 2 cups cooked turkey, shredded or thinly sliced
  • 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup caramelized onions (optional)
  • Fresh arugula or spinach (optional)
  • Pickled jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Position the rack in the middle of the oven.
  2. Without separating them, slice the entire block of 12 rolls horizontally through the middle. Place the bottom half in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Arrange the shredded or sliced turkey evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  4. Spoon the cranberry sauce over the turkey and spread it gently, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Place the Swiss cheese slices evenly over the cranberry sauce, overlapping slightly if needed.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer and gently press down.
  7. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth. Stir in the poppy seeds.
  8. Using a pastry brush, generously brush the butter mixture over the tops of the rolls, making sure every surface is coated.
  9. Cover the dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-8 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly around the edges.
  11. Let the sliders rest in the dish for 5 minutes before serving. Use a spatula to lift them out.

Notes

Don’t skip the foil covering for the first 15 minutes to ensure the cheese melts evenly. Warm the cranberry sauce slightly if using cold from the fridge. Use room temperature turkey for even heating. A serrated knife works best for slicing the rolls without squishing them. For make-ahead, assemble up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerate; add 5 minutes to covered baking time.
