This copycat Toasted White Chocolate Mocha is a warm, nutty, and deeply comforting coffee drink that turns a regular morning into a cozy ritual. Made with toasted white chocolate, rich espresso, and creamy milk, it’s faster than waiting in line at a coffee shop.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (90g) white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 shots espresso (or 1/2 cup / 120ml strong brewed coffee)
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (whole, oat, or 2%)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • White chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Toast the white chocolate: Place white chocolate chips in a small, dry saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly with a rubber spatula. After 2-3 minutes, it will start to melt and turn a light golden brown. Remove from heat immediately when it turns a pale tan color.
  2. Make the sauce: Pour heavy cream into the pan with the toasted chocolate. Whisk vigorously until smooth and glossy. Stir in vanilla extract. Set aside.
  3. Brew your coffee: Brew espresso or strong coffee using a dark roast.
  4. Heat the milk: Warm milk in a small saucepan or microwave until steaming but not boiling. Froth if desired.
  5. Assemble the drink: Pour toasted white chocolate sauce into the bottom of a mug. Pour hot espresso over the sauce and stir. Slowly pour warm milk over the back of a spoon to create layers. Top with whipped cream and white chocolate shavings.

Notes

Toast white chocolate over low heat and watch carefully to prevent burning. If sauce seizes, add a splash of warm cream and whisk vigorously. Sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
