Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups mini pretzels
  • 2 cups candy corn
  • 1 cup roasted salted peanuts
  • 1 cup roasted almonds
  • 1/2 cup pepitas (pumpkin seeds)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional, skip if nuts are salted)
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries (optional)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/4 cup candy pumpkins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mini pretzels, candy corn, peanuts, almonds, and pepitas. Toss together until evenly distributed.
  3. In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in 20-second intervals until fully melted. Whisk in the brown sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and salt (if using) until smooth.
  4. Pour the butter mixture over the dry ingredients. Use a spatula to toss everything together until all the pretzels and nuts are coated evenly.
  5. Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer, mostly in a single layer.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, stirring halfway through at the 5-minute mark. The candy corn should be slightly softened and the nuts fragrant when done.
  7. Let the mix cool completely on the baking sheet for at least 30 minutes. The coating will set and everything will become crunchy.
  8. Once cooled, gently break apart any large clusters with your hands.
  9. If using optional add-ins (dried cranberries, white chocolate chips, or candy pumpkins), stir them in after baking.

Notes

Don’t overbake the candy corn—it melts quickly. Use room temperature ingredients for better coating. If using raw nuts, toast them separately for 5 minutes first. Let cool completely before storing to maintain crunch. Flavors develop and meld after a day or two. For a nut-free version, substitute nuts with additional pretzels or roasted chickpeas. For gluten-free, use gluten-free pretzels. For vegan, use melted coconut oil or vegan butter.
