These spooky yet cozy deviled eggs feature a creamy, tangy filling with a sriracha drizzle and a spiderweb design that’s perfect for Halloween parties or fall gatherings. Quick to make with simple ingredients, they’re a crowd-pleasing appetizer that adds a fun, festive touch to any event.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika, plus extra for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • Black sesame seeds (optional, for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Hard-boil the eggs: Place eggs in a single layer in a large pot. Cover with cold water by about an inch. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat, then cover, remove from heat, and let sit for 10-12 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath immediately to stop cooking.
  2. Peel and halve: Once cooled, tap each egg gently on the counter to crack the shell, then peel under running water for easier removal. Cut each egg lengthwise with a sharp knife.
  3. Make the filling: Scoop out the yolks into a medium bowl. Add mayonnaise, mustard, pickle juice, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mash with a fork until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  4. Pipe the filling: Transfer the yolk mixture to a piping bag or zip-top bag. Snip a small corner (about 1/4 inch wide). Pipe a generous swirl into each egg white half, mounding slightly in the center.
  5. Create the spiderweb: Drizzle a thin line of sriracha-sour cream mixture (see next step) over the piped filling in a spiral pattern. Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center outward, creating a web effect.
  6. Make the sriracha drizzle: In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons sriracha with 1 tablespoon sour cream until smooth. Transfer to a small zip-top bag and snip a tiny corner. Drizzle over the eggs as described.
  7. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with extra paprika and black sesame seeds if using. Arrange on a platter and serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For perfect peeling, use eggs that are at least a week old. Add a teaspoon of baking soda to the boiling water to make peeling easier. The filling can be made 24 hours in advance and stored in the fridge. Assemble the eggs just before serving to keep the whites from weeping. If the filling is too thick, add a teaspoon of mayo; if too thin, add another yolk.
