This creamy edible chocolate chip cookie dough dip is ready in 5 minutes, safe to eat raw (no eggs, heat-treated flour), and tastes just like the real thing. Perfect for parties or a quick sweet craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, heat-treated
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Heat-treat the flour: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread flour on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes, stir, then bake 2-3 more minutes until it reaches 160°F (71°C). Let cool completely. Alternatively, microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between, until 160°F, then cool.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla extract and milk; beat on low speed until just combined.
  4. Add cooled heat-treated flour and salt; mix on low speed until fully incorporated and no white streaks remain. Adjust consistency with extra milk or flour if needed.
  5. Fold in mini chocolate chips with a rubber spatula until evenly distributed.
  6. Transfer to a serving bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve with graham crackers, pretzels, apple slices, or a spoon.

Notes

Butter must be softened, not melted. Heat-treated flour must cool completely before adding to butter mixture. Dip improves after a few hours in the fridge. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Do not freeze.
