This creamy old-fashioned marshmallow creme chocolate fudge is the real deal—the kind that makes people close their eyes after the first bite. It has that melt-in-your-mouth texture that store-bought fudge just can’t touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (18 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions

  1. Prepare your pan. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches of overhang on two opposite sides. Lightly grease the parchment with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Combine the base ingredients. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula.
  3. Melt slowly and patiently. Keep the heat on low and stir in a steady, circular motion until the mixture is smooth and completely uniform, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the marshmallow creme. Remove the pan from heat. Add the entire jar of marshmallow creme and stir vigorously until fully incorporated.
  5. Finish with vanilla and salt. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt. If adding nuts, fold them in now.
  6. Transfer to the pan. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Chill until firm. Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours, or overnight for best results.
  8. Cut and serve. Once firm, lift the fudge out of the pan and cut into 1-inch squares using a sharp knife.

Notes

Make sure marshmallow creme is at room temperature before starting. Keep heat on low to prevent scorching. For clean cuts, wipe knife clean between slices. Fudge flavor improves after a day or two.
