Ingredients

Scale
  • 2430 mini frozen fully cooked meatballs (or 1215 regular-sized)
  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (Grands! Flaky Layers recommended)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 810 slices mozzarella cheese (cut into small strips)
  • 2430 candy eyeballs
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Thaw frozen meatballs (microwave 1-2 minutes or refrigerate overnight). Pat dry with a paper towel. Toss with about 1/4 cup marinara sauce to coat lightly.
  3. Open the can of biscuit dough. Separate biscuits and place on a cutting board. Cut each biscuit into 3-4 thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
  4. Take one dough strip and wrap it around a sauced meatball, leaving a small gap for the eyes. Press ends gently to seal. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining meatballs.
  5. Cut small strips of mozzarella cheese and tuck them under the dough wraps on each meatball.
  6. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic powder. Brush the butter mixture over the dough strips. Sprinkle with dried parsley if using.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until dough is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. While still warm, press candy eyeballs into the exposed meatball gaps.
  9. Serve immediately with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Don’t over-wrap the meatballs; 2-3 strips per meatball is plenty. Leave a generous gap for the eyes. For best results, use flaky layers biscuit dough. If candy eyeballs fall off, use a tiny dab of cream cheese or frosting as glue.
