A simple and quick recipe to make homemade frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that are perfect for kids’ lunchboxes and busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices white sandwich bread (soft, fresh)
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) peanut butter per sandwich (creamy or chunky)
  • 1 to 1.5 tablespoons (20–25g) grape jelly or strawberry jam per sandwich
  • Butter or margarine (optional, for spreading to prevent sogginess)
  • Plastic wrap or sandwich bags for freezing and storing

Instructions

  1. Trim the crusts from 8 slices of sandwich bread using a sharp knife.
  2. Optionally, spread a thin layer of butter or margarine on one side of each bread slice to prevent sogginess.
  3. Spread about 2 tablespoons of peanut butter evenly on 4 slices of bread, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Spread 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of jelly or jam on the other 4 slices.
  5. Press a peanut butter slice and a jelly slice together, matching edges carefully and pressing gently to seal.
  6. Using a 3-inch round biscuit cutter or similar tool, cut out sandwich circles and press edges firmly to seal the filling inside.
  7. Wrap each sandwich tightly in plastic wrap or place in individual sandwich bags.
  8. Lay sandwiches flat in the freezer and freeze for at least 2 hours before using.

Notes

Warm peanut butter slightly if too stiff to spread. Do not overfill sandwiches to prevent leaking. Freeze sandwiches flat and individually wrapped to avoid sticking. Use fresh, soft bread for best sealing. Optional butter layer helps prevent sogginess during storage.
