These mummy hot dogs are a quick and fun Halloween treat made with crescent rolls, hot dogs, and mustard eyes. Ready in under 20 minutes, they’re perfect for weeknight dinners or spooky parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 hot dogs (regular size)
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (optional, for brushing)
  • Everything bagel seasoning (optional)
  • Cheese slices (optional, for deluxe mummies)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Open the crescent roll can and unroll the dough onto a cutting board. If using perforated dough, press the seams together gently.
  3. Cut the dough lengthwise into thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide. You should get 8 to 10 strips per can.
  4. Pat each hot dog dry with a paper towel to help the dough stick.
  5. Take one strip of dough and wrap it around a hot dog, starting at one end and working to the other. Leave small gaps between wraps for the mummy effect. Press the end of the dough to seal.
  6. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch between each.
  7. Before baking, squeeze two small dots of mustard onto each mummy for eyes, placing them in the gaps.
  8. Optional: Brush the tops with melted butter for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
  10. Let the mummy hot dogs rest on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes before serving. Serve warm.

Notes

For best results, use seamless crescent dough sheets. Thin strips (1/2 inch) give a better mummy look. Mustard stays put during baking; avoid ketchup or candy eyes. Assemble up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerate. Freeze unbaked mummies for up to 3 months.
