These adorable mummy pigs in a blanket are a fun and easy Halloween treat made with hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough strips, baked until golden, and served with a tangy mustard dip. Perfect for parties, game days, or a quick weeknight snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard (for dip)
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg + 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash, optional)
  • Extra mustard or ketchup for eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean cutting board. If using perforated dough, press the seams together to form a solid sheet. Cut the dough into 8 equal rectangles, then cut each rectangle lengthwise into 4 thin strips (32 strips total).
  3. Wrap each hot dog with 4 strips of dough, spacing them out to create a mummy effect. Press the ends of the dough gently to seal.
  4. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart. Brush with egg wash if desired.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
  6. While the mummies bake, make the dip: In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons yellow mustard, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon honey, 1/4 teaspoon paprika, and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder. Whisk until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Once the mummies are out of the oven and slightly cooled (about 5 minutes), use a toothpick to dab two small dots of mustard on each mummy for eyes.
  8. Serve warm with the mustard dip.

Notes

For best results, cut the dough while it is cold. Do not overbake; check at the 10-minute mark. Press the dough ends firmly to prevent unraveling. The dip can be made up to 3 days in advance.
