A simple and delicious peach butter made with just four ingredients using a slow cooker, no canning required. Perfect for spreading on toast or stirring into yogurt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pounds fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200 g)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Peel, pit, and slice about 4 pounds (1.8 kg) of fresh peaches. Toss the peach slices in a large mixing bowl with 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Stir gently to coat the fruit evenly.
  2. Pour the peach mixture into your 4-6 quart (3.8-5.7 L) slow cooker. Spread it out so it cooks evenly. Cover with the lid.
  3. Set the slow cooker to low and cook for about 6 hours. Stir every hour or so to prevent sticking and to break down the fruit evenly.
  4. Once the cooking time is up, use an immersion blender directly in the slow cooker to puree the peach butter until smooth or leave it a little chunky if you prefer texture.
  5. If the peach butter seems too runny, cook uncovered on low for another 30-60 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it reaches your preferred thickness.
  6. Let the peach butter cool to room temperature. Transfer it to sterilized glass jars or airtight containers and refrigerate. It will keep for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.

Notes

Stir every hour during cooking to prevent sticking and burning. Peeling peaches is optional but recommended for a smoother texture. If peach butter is too runny, cook uncovered for an additional 30-60 minutes. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or freeze for longer storage.
