A spooky, kid-friendly Halloween punch that’s quick and easy to make. This deep purple brew features floating ‘eyeball’ raspberries and a dramatic dry ice smoking effect, making it the perfect centerpiece for any Halloween party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 64 ounces (1.89 liters) white grape juice
  • 12 ounces (355 ml) frozen purple grape juice concentrate, thawed
  • 2 cups (480 ml) cold water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) pineapple juice (optional)
  • 2 cups (about 300 grams) frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup (about 150 grams) frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup (about 150 grams) frozen blackberries (optional)
  • 1 block dry ice (optional, but highly recommended)
  • 1 plastic witch’s hand or gummy worms (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large punch bowl or beverage dispenser, combine the white grape juice, thawed purple grape juice concentrate, and cold water. Stir until the concentrate is fully dissolved. If using, add the pineapple juice and stir again.
  2. Add the frozen raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries (if using) directly into the punch. Do not thaw them first. Gently stir to distribute the berries evenly.
  3. If using a plastic witch’s hand or gummy worms, prepare spooky ice by placing them in an ice cube tray or small bowl with water. Freeze for at least 2 hours until solid. When ready to serve, pop the ice block out and float it in the punch.
  4. Right before serving, use tongs to add a small piece of dry ice (about the size of a golf ball) to the punch. It will create a smoking, bubbling effect. Add more dry ice as needed to maintain the effect. Important: Handle dry ice with tongs only and never let children touch it.
  5. Ladle the punch into cups, making sure to scoop up some frozen berries with each serving. Serve immediately while the dry ice is still smoking.

Notes

Dry ice is extremely cold and can cause burns. Always handle it with tongs and never let children touch it. Never seal dry ice in a closed container as it can cause an explosion. The dry ice effect lasts about 5-10 minutes; add more as needed. For best results, keep berries frozen until the last minute to maintain the creepy floating effect. The punch can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours, but add dry ice just before serving.
