A quick and easy no-cook breakfast that kids love, made with rolled oats, peanut butter, protein powder, and chia seeds. Perfect for busy mornings, this creamy and satisfying meal can be prepared in just 4 minutes the night before.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats (old-fashioned oats)
  • 3/4 cup (180ml) milk (whole, 2%, or oat milk)
  • 1/4 cup (64g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 scoop (about 30g) chocolate or vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) maple syrup or honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
  • 1 medium banana, sliced (for topping)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add the dry ingredients to your jar: 1 cup rolled oats, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 tablespoon chia seeds (if using), and a pinch of salt. Stir briefly.
  2. Spoon 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter on top of the dry mixture. Do not stir yet. If peanut butter is cold, microwave for 10 seconds to soften.
  3. Pour in 3/4 cup milk. Let it sit for about 30 seconds without stirring.
  4. Stir everything together from the bottom until combined into a thick, uniform mixture. It should look like thick batter, not soupy. Adjust with 1 tablespoon more milk if too dry, or 1 tablespoon more oats if too wet.
  5. Seal the jar and refrigerate overnight (at least 6 hours, ideally 8 to 12 hours).
  6. In the morning, stir the oats. If too thick, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk to loosen. Slice banana on top. Optionally drizzle with maple syrup.
  7. Serve immediately cold, or microwave for 30 to 45 seconds if desired.

Notes

For best texture, use rolled oats (not quick or steel-cut). If using plant-based protein powder, add an extra tablespoon of milk. Cold peanut butter can be microwaved for 10 seconds for easier mixing. Oats keep in the fridge for up to 5 days; add banana topping just before serving. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
