Lighter Turkey Cranberry Brie Sliders with Garlic Butter Glaze

Lighter Turkey Cranberry Brie Sliders - featured image

These sliders are a quick and easy weeknight meal or game day snack, featuring leftover turkey, creamy brie, sweet-tart cranberry sauce, and a garlic butter glaze on soft whole wheat rolls. They’re lighter than traditional sliders but still indulgent and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slider rolls (soft whole wheat or honey wheat recommended)
  • 1 lb cooked turkey breast, shredded or thinly sliced
  • 8 oz brie cheese, rind removed and sliced into thin pieces
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup fresh arugula or baby spinach (optional)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Without separating the rolls, slice the entire slab of 12 rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in the prepared dish.
  3. Spread the cranberry sauce evenly over the bottom layer of rolls. Distribute the shredded turkey evenly over the cranberry sauce. Lay the sliced brie pieces evenly over the turkey. Scatter arugula or spinach over the brie, if using. Place the top half of the rolls back on.
  4. In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, honey (or maple syrup), Dijon mustard, dried thyme, and black pepper. Whisk until well combined.
  5. Brush the entire garlic butter glaze generously over the tops of the rolls. Let the assembled sliders rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
  6. Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes, until tops are golden brown and cheese is bubbly and melted.
  7. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes. Cut between the rolls with a sharp knife. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt right before serving.

Notes

The 10-minute rest before baking is crucial for flavor absorption. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free slider rolls. For dairy-free, substitute brie with a dairy-free soft cheese and use plant-based butter. To prevent soggy bottoms, don’t overdo the cranberry sauce and pat dry any moist turkey.
