This quick copycat Starbucks iced brown sugar oatmilk shaken espresso is a homemade version of the popular coffee shop drink, ready in just 5 minutes. It saves you money and tastes just like the original, with rich espresso, sweet brown sugar, and creamy oat milk.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots of espresso (about 2 ounces)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 cup oat milk (barista edition recommended)
  • Ice cubes (about 1 cup)
  • Optional: a pinch of cinnamon
  • Optional: ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Brew 2 shots of espresso (about 2 ounces total).
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of packed brown sugar to a cocktail shaker or mason jar.
  3. Pour the hot espresso over the brown sugar and stir briefly to start dissolving.
  4. Add a generous handful of ice cubes (about 6-8 medium cubes) to the shaker.
  5. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  6. Fill a tall glass with fresh ice cubes.
  7. Strain the shaken espresso mixture over the fresh ice.
  8. Pour 1 cup of oat milk over the espresso-ice mixture.
  9. Stir gently and enjoy immediately.

Notes

Use barista edition oat milk for best results. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to create foam and fully dissolve the sugar. If using regular coffee instead of espresso, use ¼ cup of very strong brewed coffee. For a lower-sugar version, reduce brown sugar to 1 tablespoon and add a few drops of stevia.
